🔰 What is the SSB Interview?

The Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview is a 5-day assessment process conducted by the Indian Armed Forces to evaluate candidates for officer-level entries in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. SSB Interview Process – 5-Day Breakdown

Day 0 – Reporting Day

  • Document Verification

  • Briefing about the 5-day process

Day 1 – Screening Test (Stage I)

  1. Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR Test)

    • Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning

    • Time-bound MCQs

  2. Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT)

    • 30-second picture observation

    • 4-minute story writing

    • Group discussion on the story

Only shortlisted candidates go to Stage II.

Day 2 – Psychology Tests

  1. Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) – Compose 12 narratives inspired by images. 

  2. Situation Reaction Test (SRT) – 60 real-life situations. 

  3. Self Description Test (SDT) – Compose a narrative regarding yourself, as well as the perspectives of your parents, friends, and teachers.

 Days 3 and 4 – Responsibilities of the Group Testing Officer (GTO Tasks)

  1. Group Discussion

  2. Group Planning Exercise (GPE)

  5. Lecturette

  6. Individual Obstacles

  7. Command Task

  8. Final Group Task (FGT)
