Eligibility Criteria

• Gender: Currently, NDA is open for unmarried male candidates, though females can apply if notified by UPSC.

• Education:

  • Army: 10+2 (12th) pass or appearing from any recognized board.

  • Navy & Air Force: 10+2 (12th) pass or appearing, with Physics and Mathematics as subjects.

• Marital Status: Must be unmarried at the time of joining.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 16.5 years

• Maximum Age: 19.5 years

• Age is calculated as on the specific date mentioned in the UPSC notification for each NDA exam.

NDA Exam Details

The NDA selection process is divided into two main stages:

1️⃣ Written Examination

• Conducted by: UPSC

• Frequency: Twice a year (NDA I & NDA II)

• Subjects:

  • Mathematics – 300 marks

  • General Ability Test (GAT) – 600 marks

• Duration: 5 hours (Mathematics – 2.5 hours, GAT – 2.5 hours)

• Pattern: Objective type questions

2️⃣ SSB Interview

• Duration: 5 days

• Stage 1: Officer Intelligence Rating Test & Picture Perception Test (OIR & PPDT)

• Stage 2: Psychological tests, group tasks, personal interview

• Final Selection: Based on written marks + SSB performance + medical fitness
